getting them regulated is the tough part, mantenance isn't that expensive. they go twice a year for a glucose curve to make sure their insulin levels/sugar level are fine and the dosage is fine. all of my cats eat the Science Diet (feline) WD, but I also mix it with Science Diet Advanced Senior. (Tika, seems to be able to keep it down better that I mix it.)
